Perform and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice, performing work in accordance with physician orders in an adult patient population.

Requires knowledge necessary to make appropriate clinical decisions and interaction relative to patients' age-specific requirements and provide age appropriate care. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of all respiratory care equipment and demonstrate how that equipment is applied to perform specific respiratory care procedures. Knowledge in working with compressed gases, both flammable and non-flammable and the associated safety/fire precautions. Must maintain annual skill requirements.

Completion of a 2 year, Associate Degree Respiratory Therapy program approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Wisconsin. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care to be obtained before end of six month probationary period. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained before end of sixth month probationary period. Clinical experience in all areas of Respiratory Care is preferred.
